Dr. Cerro is Scientific Director of Arthex and is co-inventor of the company's foundational technology. She holds a MSc and Ph.D. in Biology with a strong background in myotonic dystrophy (DM1) and in the biology of Muscleblind (Mbnl) proteins. As a key contributor to the Arthex team, Dr. Cerro brings an excellent background in multiple biological disciplines, including biology, biochemistry, and genetics. She coordinates the research and development of new antimiR molecules and corresponding therapeutic targets. She has published numerous scientific papers relating to her research in DM1, including two papers in Nature Communications.
